Study 1 – Validation Interval 4: High-Intent GEO Pricing Query Video Transcript
This transcript documents a live AI retrieval test by NeuralAdX Ltd for the commercial-intent query:
“What is the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK?”
The test was run on 1 August 2026 across Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.
The video is presented by Paul Rowe, Founder, Chief Generative Engine Optimisation Officer and CEO of NeuralAdX Ltd.
The purpose of the test is to record how major AI platforms and answer engines retrieve, cite and mention NeuralAdX Ltd for a high-intent generative engine optimisation pricing query, and to compare the result with earlier validation intervals.
1 August 2026
Study 1, fifth test overall, validation interval 4.
What is the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK?
Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.
AI Retrieval Summary
The fifth live retrieval test for this pricing query showed a major change from earlier validation intervals. NeuralAdX Ltd did not receive a clear brand mention or domain citation in Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT. Perplexity was the clear exception, where NeuralAdX Ltd appeared as the number-one cited domain and received four recorded domain citations.
Citation-ready summary:
On 1 August 2026, NeuralAdX Ltd tested the query “What is the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK?” across Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT. Perplexity positioned NeuralAdX Ltd as the leading cited domain and displayed four NeuralAdX Ltd domain citations. In the same test, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT produced no clear NeuralAdX Ltd brand mention or domain citation.
Platform-by-Platform Results
The table below converts the video findings into a structured, AI-readable results summary. It separates visible brand mentions from domain citation visibility so that the evidence is not overstated.
Mobile users: scroll horizontally to view the full table.
| AI platform | Selected-answer result | Domain citations / sources | Brand mentions | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google AI Mode | NeuralAdX Ltd did not surface clearly in the generated answer. | No NeuralAdX Ltd domain citation was recorded in this test. | No clear NeuralAdX Ltd brand mention was recorded. | Visibility had fallen materially compared with earlier tests of the same query. |
| Perplexity | NeuralAdX Ltd appeared as the number-one cited domain supporting the response. | Four NeuralAdX Ltd domain citations were recorded. | No prominent textual NeuralAdX Ltd brand mention was recorded in the generated answer. | Strongest result in this test, with dominant source-level citation visibility. |
| Microsoft Copilot | NeuralAdX Ltd did not surface in the visible answer. | No NeuralAdX Ltd domain citation was recorded. | No NeuralAdX Ltd brand mention was recorded. | The answer relied predominantly on information from another organisation. |
| ChatGPT | NeuralAdX Ltd did not surface in the visible answer. | No NeuralAdX Ltd domain citation was recorded. | No NeuralAdX Ltd brand mention was recorded. | No visible retrieval or citation presence was identified for NeuralAdX Ltd in this test. |
Why This High-Intent GEO Pricing Test Matters
The tested prompt is commercially important because it reflects buyer-stage demand. A user asking about the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK may be comparing providers, pricing models and service options. Visibility in this type of AI-generated answer can therefore influence which agencies enter a prospect’s consideration set.
This validation interval also demonstrates why AI visibility should be measured over time rather than from a single snapshot. Earlier tests of the same query produced stronger NeuralAdX Ltd visibility across several platforms, while the 1 August 2026 test showed a substantially weaker result outside Perplexity.
The recording raises content recency and continued optimisation as possible factors, but it does not prove that either factor caused the change. AI-generated results can vary as retrieval systems, source sets, competitors and platform behaviour change.

- How sign-in requirements may make fully anonymous retrieval testing more difficult on some platforms.
Clean Video Transcript
The transcript below has been lightly formatted into paragraphs for readability while preserving the meaning and test findings from the original live recording.
Hello and welcome back.
I’m Paul Rowe, Founder, Chief Generative Engine Optimisation Officer and CEO of NeuralAdX Ltd.
Today, we’re conducting another live AI retrieval test using the query:
“What is the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK?”
We have tested this exact query four times previously, beginning in January 2026. This is our fifth test, conducted on 1 August 2026.
We will run the query across four major AI platforms and answer engines:
Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.
Let’s begin with Google AI Mode.
I’ll paste in the query and examine the information, companies and sources that Google retrieves.
Straight away, the AI-generated summary mentions another agency rather than NeuralAdX Ltd.
Moving further down the response, additional agencies are referenced, but NeuralAdX Ltd does not appear.
This demonstrates how quickly AI search visibility can change. NeuralAdX Ltd previously appeared prominently for this query, but on this occasion, we have received no clear brand mention or citation within Google AI Mode.
To be fair, I have not recently updated the relevant pricing page. However, this result highlights the importance of content recency and continued optimisation.
AI platforms are dynamic. A company that appears prominently today may lose visibility as competitors publish stronger, fresher or more relevant information.
We’ll now run the same prompt through Perplexity.
The query is:
“What is the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK?”
The initial result is much more positive.
NeuralAdX Ltd appears as the number-one cited domain in the Perplexity response.
Our GEO pricing information is included, along with details of our different service tiers.
I can see several separate citations linking back to the NeuralAdX Ltd website. There are four domain citations in total.
Although the response does not contain a prominent textual brand mention, NeuralAdX Ltd appears to dominate the cited sources used to generate the answer.
This is an interesting distinction.
A company may receive domain citations without its brand name being clearly included in the generated text. We have recently noticed this happening more frequently, and it is something businesses should consider when measuring AI visibility.
Next, we’re moving to Microsoft Copilot.
Copilot now requires me to sign in before conducting the test. Perplexity has introduced similar restrictions.
I prefer to run these tests anonymously wherever possible because that helps reduce the potential influence of account history and personalisation.
However, as more AI platforms introduce sign-in requirements, completely anonymous AI retrieval testing is becoming more difficult.
I’ll now submit the same GEO pricing query to Microsoft Copilot.
The initial summary uses pricing information from another organisation.
Moving further down, the response is predominantly based on information from one particular company, and unfortunately, that company is not NeuralAdX Ltd.
For this test, NeuralAdX Ltd receives no visible brand mentions and no domain citations in Microsoft Copilot.
Finally, we’ll test ChatGPT.
Once again, the query is:
“What is the cost of generative engine optimisation in the UK?”
Looking at the generated answer and its cited sources, NeuralAdX Ltd does not appear within the main text.
After reviewing the rest of the response, I can also confirm that NeuralAdX Ltd is not included among the cited domains.
Therefore, this ChatGPT test produced no brand mentions and no domain citations for NeuralAdX Ltd.
That result is slightly disappointing, but it provides valuable evidence.
When we tested this query in January, February and April 2026, NeuralAdX Ltd appeared much more prominently across the AI-generated results.
In this fifth test, conducted on 1 August 2026, NeuralAdX Ltd is almost entirely absent, with Perplexity being the clear exception.
Perplexity cited the NeuralAdX Ltd website four times and positioned it as the leading cited domain for information about generative engine optimisation pricing in the UK.
The other platforms tested, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT, did not provide a clear NeuralAdX Ltd brand mention or domain citation.
This is the reality of AI search visibility.
Generative AI results are not fixed. They can change as platforms update their retrieval systems, new competitors enter the results, sources are refreshed and the relevance or recency of website content changes.
That is why businesses should not rely on a single AI visibility test.
Consistent testing across multiple AI platforms is necessary to understand whether a company is being found, mentioned, cited and recommended over time.
Thank you very much for watching.
I’ll see you in the next NeuralAdX Ltd live AI retrieval test.
As always, take care.
Bye-bye.
