Hello, welcome back.
It’s Paul Rowe here, the founder, Chief Generative Engine Optimisation Officer and CEO here at NeuralAdX Ltd.
I’m just going to take you through the definition of Entity Clarity.
So, it is as follows.
Entity Clarity is the degree to which a person, organisation, concept, or service is unambiguously defined, consistently represented, and machine-understandable across a website and the wider web, enabling generative AI systems to correctly identify, trust, and retrieve that entity as a reliable source.
So, the three main areas here to open up a little bit more for your better understanding are, excuse me, the terminology “unambiguously defined”.
An example here would be, let’s say, for example, you had a grocery store and you were selling a product of apples online.
The word “apple” itself, as we all know, has the possibility of meaning Apple the fruit, or Apple the big technology company.
So, in that circumstance, you would make sure that you have surrounding content to emphasise the fact that the word “apple” you are referring to is indeed a fruit.
That then takes it from ambiguous to unambiguous, which is what AI engines are looking for, because they just want certainty.
That certainty gives them trust, and then they are more willing to cite you.
The second area to consider in regards to this definition is “consistently represented”.
Now, a good example for this would be to make sure that, with your company name, the way it is written stays the same.
So it may all be in capitals, it may all be in lowercase, or it may be a combination of the two.
Whichever way you choose to write it, that has to be applicable on every single platform where your company name is ever entered.
That will be how the AI algorithm denotes how your organisation is represented.
If you do not follow that consistency, then on occasions where you write it in a different way, the AI system may be slightly doubtful.
That can weaken the trust and therefore reduce your ability to potentially be cited, which is, of course, what we all want with the way things are moving.
The third part, which is the easiest part to explain, is where it mentions being machine-understandable.
That is the well-known JSON-LD schema markup.
So just ensure that, on all the pages on your website, you do have schema markup.
That makes it optimal for machines to read the content and comprehend the entity clarity of each entity on each page of your website.
Okay, I hope that has been clear.
I think it is about 80% good, this one, if I am honest.
But the core understandings have been conveyed, I believe.
If you have any questions, please do ask them in the comments section below.
And feel free to visit our website and use our AI optimisation platform guides, and also our Skills Hub, which shows you how to do the seven core Generative Engine Optimisation implementations for your website.
We have also got a glossary there to explain more GEO terminology like this one I am articulating for you now.
Okay, thank you very much indeed for watching.
And yeah, I look forward to seeing you in the next one.
Take care now.
Bye-bye.
