Let me help you with the definition of GraphRAG in regards to Generative Engine Optimisation.
So, it is as follows.
GraphRAG basically means Graph Retrieval-Augmented Generation. This is an advanced retrieval method that enhances AI responses by using knowledge graphs to connect related entities and context, enabling more accurate, structured, and context-aware outputs.
So yes, that does sound like a bit of cognitive overload there, doesn’t it?
But in a more simplified version, it is just saying that, in order to achieve GraphRAG, what you need to do on your website is make sure that you have JSON-LD schema markup and that it clearly identifies your entities.
So that would be person, organisation, product, service, and concepts in the specialised subject that you work with.
In addition to that, you need to be able to connect those entities with the actual content on your website.
So you need to show the relationship.
I mean, that will pretty much happen naturally through you being in alignment with the particular area of work that you’re in.
But the more context and the more semantic connection you can make between the entities and the actual content on the website, the more GraphRAG you are achieving, I should say.
And then that will enable AI engines to have a much more detailed and confident knowledge base of your organisation.
And all of this goes towards pushing you up in the pecking order of whether you will be cited against a competitor, and also the depth and reach of your organisation, and the richness of the content that is output to the user in regards to their initial query.
