It’s Paul Rowe here, the founder, Chief Generative Engine Optimisation Officer and CEO here at NeuralAdX Ltd.
I’m just going to run through the definition of ChatGPT and explain how it relates to Generative Engine Optimisation.
So, the definition is: ChatGPT is a chatbot developed by OpenAI, utilising a large language model, GPT, to generate human-like text, translate languages, write different kinds of content, and answer questions.
The name, when unabbreviated, means Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer.
Now, in regards to Generative Engine Optimisation, we are obviously targeting to get our content surfaced as the answer in ChatGPT, which is one part of Generative Engine Optimisation.
So, in order to do that, we need to follow the core practices of GEO, which include citation addition, statistic addition, quotation addition, fluency, easy-to-understand content, authority, technical terms, schema markup, source diversity, author bios, and recency.
So, the application of all of those correctly, and implementing key things like entity clarity, entity disambiguation, and entity authority, among a few other elements, is what is required so you can maximise your opportunity of surfacing in ChatGPT in this instance.
